It's what it's supposed to be for its audience, and that's entirely fine. That said, I don't want this movie to be anything other than what it is. They struggle, sure, but the conflicts never interested me, and as such I was frankly pretty bored for most of the movie. Not to say I have to relate to a movie for it to interest me, but for a story like this told in this particular way I just couldn't get into it. Also I must say, there is a charm to story where it's just the lives of some characters. Little Women is a 1949 American drama film with script and music taken directly from the earlier 1933 Hepburn version. All the actors do a fine enough job, it's very much an abridged take on the story but they manage to work in what they need to and tell the story as seamlessly as possible, and there is a great beauty to the sets and charm to the direction. There are some movies where I can see, even though it's very much not a movie for me, it's still a good movie.
